Despite not having been released yet on any platform, Stray has managed to gather quite the following as it has remained on the top sellers’ chart on Steam. With excitement for the game ramping up in more ways than one, publisher Annapurna Interactive, developer BlueTwelve Studio, and iam8bit in cooperation with distributor Skybound Games officially announced a very special PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 physical release for Stray coming this September 20. This special edition launch will have several bonuses, and to celebrate its announcement, iam8bit released a trailer which you can check out below.
This physical release of Stray is exclusive to the iam8bit online store, with pre-orders now available. Both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions will cost $44.99, and include the following:
- Stray physical copy in the platform of choice (PS4 or PS5)
- Premium matte black o-sleeve with Holofoil Spécialité
- Oversized poster featuring the iconic first teaser art for Stray; sized at 14.4” x 24”
- Six premium art cards, all frameable
- Fuzzy pettable Chenille patch of the Stray
- Completely region-free for worldwide compatibility
As with iam8bit’s last announcement for its special physical releases, Stray will also have a special 2xLP vinyl soundtrack release, retailing for $41.99. It features the following:
- 2xLP on 180g Audiophile Black Vinyl
- Futuristic premium packaging
- Gatefold Jacket housed in elegant slipcase with Holofoil Spécialité
- Featuring music by Yann Van Der Cruyssen
- Album art by Fernando Correa
- A download card for the official soundtrack on PC via Steam
Stray is an adventure exploration game set in a futuristic cyberpunk city. You play as a stray cat as the feline hero makes its way through the long-forgotten city, roaming surroundings high and low while defending against various threats. Along the way, your cat befriends a small flying drone known only as B-12, and with its help, you must make your way out of the decaying cybercity.
Stray is coming digitally to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam this July 19. You can now pre-order the game on your platform of choice, but orders for the physical edition are currently exclusive to PlayStation platforms.
