The official Rick and Morty Twitter account provided us with our first look at dialogue from Rick and Morty Season 3. Now that we have a rough release window for the upcoming episodes (end of this year!) more and more is slipping out from the Twitter tongues of Rick and Morty writers and producers. It began with writers for the new season showing off their completed episode scripts:
But no matter how many script pics appeared, we can’t see through to the pages of dialogue - even the titles have been redacted.
That all changed Monday, with this reveal from the network censor’s notes:
We can’t be sure what episode this is from, but it looks like Rick and Morty hasn’t lost its flair for profanity. Other than the definite appearance of bleeped “cock” and “fucks,” we can extrapolate a few other elements.
The most surprising thing is what the tweet already points out: this script for a 23 minute episode is 40 pages long! Here’s my read: Rick and Morty episodes are frequently complex, plot-intensive affairs, requiring lots of detailed explanation.
While it’d be nice to say that this is clear evidence that Rick breaks out of Galactic Federation prison and teams up with Morty for more adventures, this tweet isn’t concrete evidence. Rick and Morty never say “fuck” on the same page!
As much as you could pore over it for meaning, this tweet isn’t much evidence of anything from Rick and Morty Season 3. Still, we’ll take whatever info we can get. Plus, it’s a great excuse to type the word “fuck.”
