If you’re one of those waiting for Syberia: The World Before, then brace yourself. Originally scheduled to be released tomorrow on PC, it has been pushed back to April 1 of next year. Hopefully, the game does get launched on that day, instead of being a subject for April’s Fool.
So why the delay? To release the best possible game, developer Microids revealed in a post that it was important to have more time to finalize the development. The studio went on to say that they are more than convinced that players are going to be enthusiastic about this one.
Syberia: The World Before is the fourth game in the Syberia franchise.
The game is set in 1937 and focuses on two characters with the first one being the 17-year-old Dana Roze in Vaghen. She is showing signs of being a brilliant pianist but her possible career could be in trouble as the threat of the Brown Shadow looms over Europe. The second character is Kate Walker and she is set in Taiga sometime in 2004.
Features of the game are:
- Hop on an adventure that’s going to take you across continents and even through time. Get to play as both Kate Walker and Dana Roze.
- Explore the world of Benoît Sokal and enjoy the breathtaking sceneries and iconic characters.
- Solve complicated puzzles and riddles that have long been part of the series.
- Discover a rich and captivating story.
- Listen to the symphonic soundtrack composed by Inon Zur.
More Time
While it is sad to learn about the delay, there’s a silver lining. That means there’s still time to pre-order the game and get the bonus, which is the exclusive digital artbook.
Players have a choice between the Standard and Deluxe editions. The latter not only has the full digital game but also these extras:
- The Soundtrack
- A short version of the Syberia: The World Before – Prologue script by Benoît Sokal and Lucas Lagravette.
- The Game Fan Kit: 3 wallpapers, 3 avatars, and 3 original storyboards by Benoît Sokal.
