The release of Wild Hearts is still months away. However, we've been getting a peek into what the game has to offer. This time, Electronic Arts and KOEI TECMO released the first-ever narrative episode for the game.
Titled "The Power of Karakuri," it sheds light on the unique Karakuri system of the game. The Karakuri are sophisticated mechanisms developed from lost and ancient technology, designed to be diverse and multi-functional. The Karakuri not only gives players the advantage in battle but it can also help in gathering resources and traveling across hunting grounds.
You can watch the video below:
The new video reveals how the Karakuri gives players that creative and dynamic edge during combat. For example, players can learn new forms and combinations that help them better prepare in their hunting grounds and create advantageous conditions when fighting the Kemono beasts.
Given the persistent nature of Karakuri, players who fall in battle or receive aid from allies can continue using their past hunting experience to set new traps and find new ways to travel with greater efficiency and strategy. In addition, crafting ensures that players change the way they think about their hunt. That’s because they'll adapt to the new complexity when they unlock various Karakuri combinations and team up to develop even stronger Karakuri systems.

Gameplay Trailer
In early October, a gameplay trailer was released that showed players attempting to take on the Kingtusk. It was also during this trailer that we first got a look at what the Karakuri was all about and the different locations that players can visit in the game.
A New Game
It was first revealed in early September that Electronic Arts and KOEI TECMO were working on a new video game. At the time, not much was mentioned except that it was a hunting game set in feudal Japan. It was officially announced a few weeks later that the new game was titled Wild Hearts set for release, February 17, 2023, on PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Origin, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
