Bethesda announced that two Double XP Weekends will be available for Fallout 76 this April. This is in celebration of the launching of the Wild Appalachia and Survival Mode Beta.
The first Double XP Weekend is offered for the Survival Beta, and begins on April 4 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. It officially ends on April 8 at 6:00 a.m. EDT.
The second weekend is alongside the Adventure and Survival Betas. It start April 25 at 12:00 p.m. EDT and ends on April 29 at 6:00 a.m. EDT.
The Survival Mode Beta was launched March 26 allowing Fallout 76 players a more competitive way to play the game. Since this mode is separate from the main game, there are fewer restrictions when it comes to PvP. In addition to higher stakes offered for PvP combat, the mode also offers permanent XP bonus of 20%. Players who opt to choose Survival can still play everything that is offered under the original Adventure mode.
Making Survival mode fun is that if you want to take down other players, it won't be that easy. Other players only appear on the map when they are either wanted or in the top three on the Longest Life scoreboards. What that means is that if you are one of the three that have managed to stay alive the longest, you will need to watch your back as you will now be visible to other players on the map.
Aside from the upcoming event, Bethesda implemented a maintenance fix on April 2. The fix addressed an issue that resulted in the game client crashing. It was also to solve "an issue that could prevent the brief period of invulnerability from being applied to Survival Beta characters after Fast Traveling or Respawning under certain circumstances." No patch notes were released with this update.
