The Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift is due for a summer release. Specifically, it is expected to drop on the Steam and Oculus Store platforms by July or August of this year.
“We can now confirm that Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR will be fully compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift systems. The list of supported goggles will also probably include Valve Index, Windows Mixed Reality, and maybe Oculus Quest," Mateusz Zawadzki, CEO of Ultimate Games S.A., said in a press statement. "Most importantly, the content of the VR version will be the same as the traditional version of the game."
While Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR is to be launched as a separate game, those who have the “regular” version get the chance to purchase an add-on that extends the game with VR support at a proportionally lower price.
It's not just about VR though as Ultimate Fishing Simulator is scheduled to release versions for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, in the second half of 2019. According to Zawadzki, the "[w]ork on conversions to consoles is still ongoing. The game will, of course, be adapted to the specificities of these platforms. We aim to make the most of the consoles’ capabilities and provide players with the best possible quality."
Ultimate Fishing Simulator first appeared on Steam’s Early Access in November 2017, before officially launching in August of 2018. With as much as 84% of positive reviews from players, the game is among the top fishing games released on the platform. It was also awarded as one of the best games from early access released in 2018.
The Ultimate Fishing Simulator brand continues to expand. Since the title’s launch, paid add-ons have been regularly released. Particularly, Moraine Lake, Kariba Dam, and Greenland have been released with two more additions set for release in the next few months. Additional fisheries, boats, and dozens of new fish species are featured in the extensions.
