It looks like the hype surrounding Victor Wembanyama isn't going away anytime soon. That's because there's a possibility that he'll be bringing excitement in the digital world through the NBA 2K franchise.
A report revealed that according to Ronnie Singh, who is currently the Digital Marketing Director for 2K Games, there is a possibility that Wembanyama's rating in NBA 2K could be the highest for a rookie. While that is possible considering everything that's been happening, fans shouldn't expect too much overall.

Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers), for example, who was the top pick in 2009, has an overall rating of 77. The 2019 first draft pick Zion Williamson (New Orleans Pelicans), meanwhile, had an 81 overall rating. Surprisingly, the highest rated rookie for the NBA 2K series appears to be Michael Beasley (Miami Heat) with an overall rating of 83.
If and when Wembanyama does get his rating for an NBA 2K game, it would likely be in the mid to high 80s. It's not at the same level as the greats but it's higher compared to others.

He generated a lot of hype mainly because of his qualities as an NBA prospect. He stands at seven feet and 3.5 inches (bare foot), making him one of the tallest players in the league.
Despite his height, he has shown exceptional skills and mobility. He can do jump shots and can even shoot from the three-point line. On the defensive side, his length and the way he anticipates a play makes him a good shot blocker. His weakness is that he has a thin frame, coupled with a lack of strength which makes it difficult to box out players while rebounding or defending in the post.
