There's no question that a lot of fans are excited and hyped-up Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The pre-order beta was launched late last week and what could make things better? How about the original soundtrack for the game?
The OST is now on Spotify offering a total of 48 tracks all by Jesper Kyd. You can check it out here.
In coming up with this OST, developer Fatshark revealed that "Living Machines" were the first keywords they told Kyd to describe what they were after. When you listen to the score, you get that sense of electronic machine breathing or talking. This was made possible with the Yamaha CS-80.
Another important thing to consider about the music is the feel of the game. The game is set 40,000 years into the future where the devotion to the Imperium is absolute, and that’s something at the front and center of the music. The OST also features a performance by the Budapest Scoring Choir which helps guide the journey of a Reject becoming an icon.
Overall, the main theme embraces the sound of dark folk music that's been mixed with a massive analog synth bassline.
