New improvements are introduced in the World of Tanks Blitz Update 8.1, including changes in armor highlighting and new control features.
Armor Highlighting
In the latest update, armor highlighting is now more pronounced to make it easier for players to know if their next shot will punch through the enemy tank’s armor.
To be clear, this is just a visual improvement and it does not impact armor penetration in any way. Of course, the possibility of penetration will still be affected by multiple factors, like enemy evasive maneuvers and dispersion mechanics.
New Control Features
Update 8.1 introduces partial support of some third-party gamepads for Android devices. In addition, all supported platforms (iOS, Android, and PC) will now feature inversion and sensibility settings.
While gamepad support for Android is introduced, the main control option for the platform is still set to touch controls by default. For PC users, that option is set to keyboard and mouse.
Should players use a gamepad on their Android devices, the “Gamepad” control type will be available in the Settings. Players may set it once and it will automatically default to the same setting in future instances.
To help improve queue time for PC players, the “Same Control Mode” option has been removed from the platform, though the feature is still preserved for those running the iOS and Android versions.
Updated Bonus Containers
To make the game even more enticing, new players will get more resources like Credits, Credit boosters, and Combat XP, from daily, weekly, and three-day bonus containers. More experienced players will receive Cooldown boosters and Gold.
Take note that the higher the player’s vehicle tier is, the more valuable the content they will get from these bonus containers.
Also, players will have a better idea of what they’re going to get as the drop chances for items will be much clearer for all containers in the game.
