We still have yet to see Adrian Chase officially reveal his alter-ego, Vigilante, in Arrow Season 5. Vigilante is reckless in the comics, and it looks like he'll have the same attitude in the show. A preview for episode 7, fittingly titled, “The Vigilante” shows Green Arrow face to face with Star City’s newest anti-hero.
“This is a war,” Vigilante says to Arrow in a disguised voice “You’re not getting the job done.” Arrow then releases a special arrow, bounding Vigilante in wires to a nearby post. “This is a war,” Arrow says, “but I’m going to fight it the right way.”
The photos for the episode give a little more detail. Vigilante appears to have gotten ahold of Curtis and beat him pretty bad. A still released by CW shows Curtis kneeling on the ground as Vigilante and Arrow talk. Vigilante is a more brutal, Wild-Dog type guy. The episode synopsis reveals Vigilante is killing his targets and Oliver likely has a problem with that.
DOLPH LUNDGREN ("ROCKY IV") GUEST STARS - When the bodies of two criminals are dropped at SCPD, Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes there is a new Vigilante in Star City. The team is split about whether they should stop someone who is helping keep the city safe. Diggle (David Ramsey) is frustrated with his new situation and Thea (Willa Holland) fights for Lance (Paul Blackthorne) who confesses a shocking secret.
In the Arrow Season 5 premiere, Felicity showed Oliver a police sketch of a mysterious vigilante fighting crime in Star City. The image shows a man wearing ski goggles, which very closely resembles Vigilante’s costume in the comics. Adrian’s alter ego was teased a few episodes ago when he was interrogating one of Tobias Church's men. He got way more aggressive than a D.A. should. For a second there it seemed like he was going to throw some punches, but gunshots interrupted the conversation.
We’ll just have to wait and see whether Arrow and Vigilante can find common ground. A District Attorney-Mayor night and day partnership could do a lot of good for Star City. What do you think? Will Oliver and Adrian work together? Let us know in the comments below!
