As the PlayStation 5 is nearing its release, the next-gen console's capabilities are coming to light. Although players already know that the PS5 will be much more powerful that the PS4, numbers are what gamers are interested in. There are new details on Assassin's Creed Valhalla, one of the console's first playable games, and how it will perform on the PS5. When it comes to Ubisoft games, many of us are concerned about the developer's poor optimization. However, it seems that this isn't going to be the case with Assassin's Creed Valhalla on the PS5.
Unlike the PS4, the PS5 comes with a super-fast SSD and a powerful RDNA 2 GPU, which will undoubtedly run most PS5 titles at higher framerates and resolutions. Moreover, demanding games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla have also been confirmed to run at 4K and 60FPS on the PS5. Up until now, all previous Assassin's Creed games on the PS4 ran at 30 FPS, and Valhalla will be the first game in the series to run at a silky smooth 60 FPS.
Other upcoming demanding Ubisoft games like Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs: Legion may also run at 4K and 60 FPS. Games from other developers like CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and more may also run at 4K and 60 FPS. Many players have been wondering about the current PS4 Pro and Xbox One X and that they already support 4K resolution, but it's important to note that neither of the two consoles promises 60 FPS gameplay. Now that both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are promising true 4K and 60 FPS (and even 120 FPS on some of the less-demanding titles), one can safely assume that 4K/60FPS is going to be a new standard for console gaming going forward.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is releasing on November 10 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Stadia. The game will launch on the PS5 on November 12.
