Black Desert Online is releasing a free update that introduces the Archer character class to the game and brings players to the Kamasylvia region. This update is only available for the Xbox One right now. Along with the Archer, the game also revealed a new fairy companion.
The Archer is a highly mobile class that can shoot down enemies while also being able to dodge their attacks. Even when against what appears to be insurmountable odds, the Archer can escape death’s grip. Starting at level one, archers can immediately wield two weapons, the main Crossbow and the awakening Great Bow. In addition, the Archer can switch between these two weapons while also being able to cast magic like Winged Strike and Meteor Dive.
The new area, Kamasylvia, is a lush forest region and serves as the birthplace of the elves. Here adventurers have the chance to explore a wide range of unique areas. Players can visit the vast grasslands, go to the dangerous woods, and even explore the massive temple ruins. There are a number of formidable enemies to battle along with fighting terrifying bosses. There are also majestic landmarks like the massive remains of the Old Wisdom Tree. Kamasylvia even has an impressive mountain range that surrounds the Altar of Training.
As mentioned, a new fairy companion has been included in this update. Players can now go around the Black Desert Online world with their fairy companion, Laila. She has the ability to imbue players with different skills like Feather Steps and Tingling Breath, which help players on their journey. To get Laila, you need to complete the “Fairy Queen Theiah” quest given by Black Spirit.
Beginning August 14, and for a limited time only, Adventurers can take part in several exciting events. They can trade in Archer seals and ingredients for Alchemy in exchange for various rewards. There is even the in-game photography contest where players get the chance to win Xbox Gift Cards.
Meanwhile, from August 15 until August 18, Xbox Live Gold members can play Black Desert Online on Xbox One for free. Within this period, all bundles can be purchased for a discount. The Standard and Deluxe editions get 30% off while the Ultimate Edition is 50% off. Players that buy Black Desert Online during or after this period can continue playing the game with their saved data.
The release of Black Desert Online to Xbox One follows the successful Open Beta period on the PlayStation 4. It was during this open beta period that a number of GM events took place and received positive feedback. Black Desert Online is coming to the PlayStation 4 on August 22. You can pre-order here.
