After the messy launch of Warcraft 3: Reforged, fans have been very critical of the title. Blizzard is trying to handle the situation by changing their refund policy, and is now giving instant refunds, no question asked. Earlier this week, Blizzard outright denied any refunds once the player opened the game, but that didn’t sit well with their fans. There were even talks of a class-action lawsuit. Blizzard quickly retracted their previous decision and now is offering refunds no matter what. It doesn’t matter whether you opened the game or not, or if you played it for dozens of hours. If you want a refund, then you only have to request it on their official site. Even after all of this, Blizzard is still standing behind their product.
"Blizzard stands by the quality of our products and our services. Normally we set limits for refund availability on a game, based on time since purchase and whether it has been used," Blizzard said in a support message. "However we want to give players the option of a refund if they feel that Warcraft 3: Reforged does not provide the experience they wanted. So, we’ve decided to allow refunds upon request for the time being. You may request a refund here on our Support Site."
Warcraft 3: Reforged has received an overwhelming amount of heat for a lot of reasons. The updated cinematics that were shown previously are now missing from the actual game, important features like leaderboards and clans are just not there, there are several color and shading bugs, and worst of them all is that the updated EULA states that Blizzard will own all mods created in Reforged, and not the creator. So if you are thinking why fans have been demanding refunds, well, there you have it. You can check out our previous article about the game over here.
Blizzard's reputation has surely taken a hit after this and we hope that this doesn’t affect the upcoming Diablo 4.
