Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been updated to version 1.17 on PS4, and evidence from fans suggests the small patch offers some initial information about DLC 3. Specifically, we know the name of the next DLC pack and what its Zombies chapter will be called. Zombies director Lee Ross tweeted that the content will possibly go live July 4.

According to the tweeted findings, DLC 3 will be called Absolution, and its Zombies chapter will be known as Attack Of The Radioactive Thing. This was revealed via a trophy called Soul-Less, and it’s an ultra-rare reward earned by players who manage to complete the Easter egg of the brand new chapter.

With the 1.17 update installed, players should also be able to see the Attack Of The Radioactive Thing option in the game’s Zombies menu. It won’t be playable until DLC 3 has officially released.

Unfortunately, Ross has been pretty quiet when comes to teasing the next Zombies chapter, but, given its name, we expect it will be a parody of classic monster movies like The Blob or Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes. Not only does the Attack Of The Radioactive Thing title call back to those classic genre patterns, but, considering what we’ve already experienced in Infinite Warfare Zombies, it just makes sense. Zombies DLC 1 put players inside an ‘80s slasher film, DLC 2 gave us our fill of ‘70s kung fu, so a logical leap would bring us to ‘60s monster movie madness next.

For those who missed the memo on the 1.17 update, it offers full support for the Call Of Duty Days Of Summer event, plus a number of interesting additions. Read the full patch notes below.

  • ‘Recently Collected’ added to the QM screen displaying recent items

‘Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ Review: The Shooter To Skip This Holiday Season
The rise of new properties, like Titanfall and Overwatch, combined with resurgent properties, like Destiny or Battlefield, make it hard to justify the shrinking number of new ideas in Call of Duty. Those who purchased Infinite Warfare on day one may not relate to anything in this article. But those with less fondness for the franchise, or just expecting COD:IW to at least match the quality of Advanced Warfare or Black Ops 3, should probably turn their attention elsewhere.
  • Cool weapons
  • A decent campaign story
  • Zombies is as fun and weird as ever
  • Multiplayer is too much of a grind for good weapons
  • There's not much originality in the entire package.
