The Civilization 6 team has shared the details for Japan , Egypt and the good ol’ US of A, along with their new leaders. We also know about China, England and Egypt. Now Civ 6 adds the Aztecs to the mix, led by Montezuma I, fifth king of Tenochtitlan and second emperor of the Aztecs. The Aztecs are a pre-order bonus and will be made available after 90 days to all Civ 6 players at no extra charge. Check out the video below for more details on the Aztecs in Civ 6:
Montezuma I is the leader of the Aztecs. His special Leader ability, Gifts for the Tilatoani, makes amenities especially valuable. Luxuries provide amenities to extra cities, and each different luxury improved in Aztec territory gives the military more fighting powers.
The Tlatchli, the unique building in the entertainment complex, gives amenities, faith, and Great General points.
The Aztec unique unit, the Eagle Warrior, is a powerful version of basic warrior units. It can turn defeated enemies into builder units. The Aztecs also have a unique ability to use their workers to speed the construction of districts.
The Aztecs are a conquest-focused Civ who can use their amenity bonuses to offset the cost of their military expansions. Early in the game, the Eagle Warrior provides a valuable edge, since each defeated warrior is an opportunity to speed construction of early districts and rapidly establish cities. As time progresses, the Aztecs can establish massive empires by acquiring new luxuries, then using their amenity bonuses to help run their burgeoning civilization.
