Publisher Coatsink and developer Bit Loom Games have just announced that their previously planned June 2020 release window for the co-op title PHOGS! Has been moved to later in 2020. According to the companies, this delay was due to the continued challenges provided by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Once launched, the game will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
PHOGS! Is an indie co-op adventure title that has players assuming the role of Red and Blue: the ‘goodest’ of doggies who will be your main ride throughout the game. Similar to the popular Nickelodeon cartoon CatDog, Red and Blue share one body with one head on either end. They also have no limbs to use so for players to navigate the world of PHOGS!, they must utilize Red and Blue's stretchy belly. The challenge lies in that this is one body that will be controlled by two dog brains.
PHOGS! will have 24 fantastical levels that players can either go through solo, with a friend via a shared controller, or local or online co-op. Solve puzzles located in multiple locations such as the Food World filled with tasty treats, Sleep World complete with cushions, quilts, and plush teddy bears, and Play World, housing a retro arcade, a beach amusement park, and more. Lastly, going through these levels successfully gives players the freedom to customize Red and Blue with the most adorable and outrageous hats.
Coatsink and Bit Loom Games have also announced that PHOGS! will be included in the upcoming Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition. For those who are out of the loop, the Steam Game Festival shines a spotlight on games that are set to be released within the next year. They are given attention through time-limited demos and/or short playable experiences. There are also opportunities for players to connect with developers for these upcoming games. The Festival will run from June 9 to June 14, wherein the PAX East 2020 demo version of PHOGS! will be played publicly for the first time.
No exact date has been confirmed yet but PHOGS! will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam within 2020.
