Great news for Cuphead fans out there! Pre-orders for the game’s physical and Collector’s Editions are now available. The retail physical version is scheduled to launch this December 6 while the Collector’s Edition will be available at a later date.
Cuphead was first released in 2017 and since then has become an indie phenomenon that produced a bunch of products, including an animated series on Netflix. This latest offering seems to be proof that the trio Studio MDHR, iam8bit and Skybound Games are always working to continue to build on the legacy of Cuphead.
In a statement, director at Studio MDHR Maja Moldenhauer revealed that a physical edition is something that they have been excited for quite some time. She added that a large part of the nostalgia that fueled the game design was about the wonderful and tactile experience of getting off the shelf, opening the case, and diving into the adventure.
Cool Offers
What do players get out of these upcoming editions? The standard retail physical version includes The Delicious Last Course expansion, along with six collectible Cuphead funnies cards and a Cuphead Club membership card. Players can also look forward to the beautiful interior art in the case.
Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition includes everything in the standard retail physical version plus these premiums:
- Vintage handcrafted Cuphead marionette puppet.
- Mechanical hand-crank music box.
- Unique and classy o-sleeve.
- Map showcasing the world of Inkwell Isles from Cuphead.
The Collector’s Edition comes in a premium box that showcases the Asbestos Safety Curtain and can be transformed to display the Cuphead marionette. The Collector’s Edition is priced at $199.99 and you can pre-order it here.
Vinyl Set
Fans can now also pre-order the new double 2xLP vinyl, which features those old timey tunes from The Delicious Last Course expansion made by composer Kristofer Maddigan. The vinyl has a special foldout poster with art by Shawn Dickinson, along with three recipe cards which contain MDHR family recipes.
Cuphead was launched in 2017 and initially available on PC and Xbox One. It was then ported to Nintendo Switch in 2018, with a PlayStation 4 version released in 2020.
