Deadlock Gets a Steam Page, So What Does It Say About the Game?

Deadlock, an upcoming hero shooter game from Valve, has been making headlines as of late as thousands of players have been enjoying the game already. Despite all this, Valve has yet to formally and officially announce the game, which has confused many in the gaming world.

There is, however, an acknowledgement from the company that it does exist. In fact, Deadlock now has a Steam page that can be accessed by anyone.

So, what does it say about the upcoming game? Not much, in all honesty, except for a few clues about the game.

What We Know from the Steam Page

Those who are hoping to get heaps of details from the Steam page will sorely disappointed. However, the page does note that "Deadlock is in early development with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay."

It does give those interested an idea about how to play the game at this stage. Unfortunately, there is a catch as access is only limited to those with a friend invite from the game's playtesters.

As of press time, the Steam page does not indicate any release date.

Teaser and Tags

The good news is anyone hoping to figure out what the game is all about can get clues from the tags present on the page. As of writing, there are three tags that appear on the page that clue anyone in on what kind of game Deadlock is:

• MOBA
• Third-Person Shooter
• Team-Based

The page also has a 22-second-long teaser for anyone looking for a glimpse of the game. Again, not much can be learned from this teaser, but it does give the audience a quick look at the early development build of the game.

As for who the character standing off to the side is, well, fans with no access to the game will have to wait and see.

Deadlock

While Valve itself has yet to officially confirm details of the game, Rock Paper Shotgun has described Deadlock as "a mixture of Dota and Super Monday Night Combat; a third-person, 6v6 multiplayer shooter with lanes, respawning creeps, and a skyrail transit system."

Previously, those who have access to the game have been barred from sharing anything online. This, however, has not stopped leaks from happening.

Fortunately, this restriction no longer applies, and those who have access can stream and discuss the game in public.
