Five years after the highly acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution, we are finally treated to a new trailer as well as an insightful 18-minute gameplay video for the anticipated sequel Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
The new 'Breach' trailer showcases a brand new game mode that involves hacking the heavily secure server farm of the Palisade Property Bank. Play as a Ripper, a hacker that must "obtain highly classified corporate data by infiltrating some of the world's most secure servers." Selling the data will earn morney that can be used to upgrade skills and augmentations.
According to the trailer's description, Square Enix promises "updates on a regular basis" that provide new challenges and features. The visuals look very interesting as well. The Deus Ex team calls Breach a "connected puzzle shooter experience" and its level design feature elements that remind me of Valve's Portal.
Next, a 18-minute gameplay video of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided sheds light to the main campaign and gives us a look at the futuristic city-hub of Prague. Play as the protagonist, Adam Jensen, who wakes up from a serious attack that causes damage to his augs.
The attacks were not elaborated, but Adam receives a number of caring calls that ask if he's alright. Eventually, the gameplay picks up the pace as Adam must bring his damaged body to the Vaclav Koller, the friendly neighborhood underground augmentation specialist. However, things get complicated as thugs have Koller surrounded. The demo shows us Adam's augmented abilities and his varied skillsets for both stealth and combat takedowns, both nonlethal and deadly.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided arrives Aug. 23 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the 18-minute gameplay footage below:
