Blizzard launched Diablo II: Resurrected open beta last weekend, and fans were given a chance to try it to their heart’s content. That said, what are the issues that players have faced during the test? Read further to find out.
Issues That Emerged in Beta Testing
Redditor @beholder0 posted that the lag they’ve experienced while playing the game was bad. But added that people should be more understanding since it was just the game’s open beta and not the final release.
Another user replied to the post that they are hoping the devs would fix the GPU overheating issue. Redditor @forteruss chimed in that they can play Final Fantasy XIV without issues but playing Diablo II: Resurrected for just half an hour resulted in a “hot notebook.”
Redditor @skoupidi added that players must cap their FPS to prevent their GPUs from overheating. They’ve stated that there is currently no option to limit the frame rates in the game. So, the temporary workaround is to cap it for Resurrected in the Nvidia control panel.
After doing so, the Redditor said that their GPU’s temperature went down by as much as 20 degrees Celsius.
This could be similar to Amazon’s New World beta where some high-end GPUs were bricked due to insanely high frame rates even in the menus.
Anyway, Redditor @MadMat_doge has outlined several issues that they’ve come across during the open beta last weekend. Aside from trading problems, texture and body glitches, and animation bugs, there was a serious issue where the Redditor was not able to interact with their character’s body after death.
You see, when you die in Diablo II: Resurrected, you must return to your corpse to get your equipment back. As you can tell, not being able to do this would essentially lead you to lose all of your hard-earned items.
Even though some users said that the workaround for the corpse issue is just to leave the game and rejoin the session, you should not have to do this extra step just to get all of your items back.
The Redditor went on to say that even though they love Diablo II, the developers should definitely focus on fixing these bugs before the game’s release.
