Diablo II: Resurrected will have ladder-only items in single-player mode as well, according to the game’s community manager.

Tom “Hooley” Powers, community manager for Diablo at Blizzard, said that ladder-only goodies, such as unique items, Rune Words, and Horadric Cube recipes, will no longer be restricted to those who will partake in Ladder rank play.

Instead, all aforementioned items will also be included in single-player and non-ladder multiplayer modes.

According to Hooley, the introduction of ladder-only items to the single-player experience has been something that the community has been asking for.

This change will allow those who prefer playing solo, to try out different builds and take in the metas normally exclusive in multiplayer ladder mode.

Aside from that, the single-player mode will have access to the Uber Diablo content, as well as the Pandemonium Event.

Because of the possibility of players flooding the servers once the game launches on September 23, the Ladder rankings and listings will go live shortly after. Details will be announced sometime after the game is released.

Update Before Beta

For those who do not know, Diablo II: Resurrected will launch its open beta this weekend, starting on August 20 until August 23.

Before the beta opens, the developers will implement a patch that adds general improvements and bug fixes.

One notable improvement is that skill purchases will now require separate button presses when using a controller. This change is due to community feedback where some may accidentally allot points to skills they did not intend to.

Here are the bug fixes expected in the upcoming update:

STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE
  • Fixed several bugs that could cause a crash upon launching the game
  • Fixed a bug that could cause players to crash when toggling the Legacy mode
  • Fixed a bug that could cause players to crash when opening a Trade window
  • Fixed a bug that could cause players to crash when the Skill Select window prompted
  • Fixed a bug that could cause degraded performance over time
  • Fixed several bugs that could cause a crash when encountering poor server connectivity
  • Fixed several bugs that could cause a crash on consoles
  • Added several client, server, and network optimizations
GENERAL
  • Fixed a bug preventing players from accepting party invites while the game window was minimized
  • Fixed a bug preventing players from toggling on or off their Paladin Auras

So, what do you think about non-ladder items being available in single-player and non-ladder multiplayer modes?
