Many things make a video game great. It can be the gameplay, the visuals, and the challenge that it offers. Then there is also the story or the lore. Regardless of what genre it is, a good story can help make the experience even more fun.
It looks like that was precisely what was planned for The Division via a new audiobook that gives fans a better picture of what happened. Tilted Hearts on Fire, it’s now available at Audible.
The Story
While a lot has happened in The Division and its sequel The Division 2, Hearts on Fire takes a different approach. It focuses on an experienced firefighter-paramedic named Melanie Hoskins, who is based in New York City. She has been recruited to an organization known only as The Division. This is a group activated in times of need and tasked with protecting the people and ensuring that the US continues to function as a country.
As it turns out, this is one of those times and she has no choice but to leave her civilian life and join the frontline to help control the “dollar flu” virus spreading across the city.
However, it’s not just The Division that has plans. A group of people known as “The Cleaners” composed of janitors, custodians, and sanitation workers, makes their move. Their belief is that the only way to save the city is to burn the infection, including those who have the virus.
There’s no question that the mission is clear. Hoskins though learns that The Cleaners have recruited someone she can never view as an enemy.
Cast and Crew
Hearts on Fire is both written and directed by Kc Wayland. Wayland served as the writer for We’re Alive and director for Motel Evil. Helping bring the story alive is Katee Sackhoff, who plays Hoskins. Sackhoff is known for her roles in Battlestar Galactica and The Mandalorian.
