E3 is an important event for the entire gaming industry. This is where the majority of big gaming companies get together and reveal new titles, show off gameplay, and make important announcements every year.
Last year’s E3 was unfortunately canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, the long-awaited event is now back as an online event. So those of you who like to go to the convention, well, there’s always next year.
E3 2021 will start on June 12 and end on June 15. The organizers have also promised that the event will be free and everyone has full access.
Possible Reveals
Some big companies participating in the event include Xbox, Activision, Capcom, and Square Enix. Take-Two will also be present and maybe it will finally reveal GTA 6. Uhh! who am I kidding, it’s probably going to be the next-gen upgrade of GTA 5.
What’s unusual is that Xbox and Bethesda are shown as two separate entities. Given that Microsoft bought Bethesda back in February, you expect them to be under the same banner. Perhaps Bethesda has tons of its own games to show like Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6, and Wolfenstein 3 as big contenders. I want a tease for a new Doom game but it’s probably too soon for that.
Amazon Game Studios will be showing off something as well and hopefully, something that doesn’t get canceled later on. Another big company is Ubisoft which will reveal more information about their next Far Cry entry. We might also get the actual gameplay trailer of Rainbow Six Quarantine/Parasite. I believe I say it for most players, but Ubi, can we finally see more of Beyond Good and Evil 2? And what happened to Skull and Bones? Let's hope to get some answers.
BANDAI NAMCO is attending the event as well. Honestly, if they decide not to show the Elden Ring gameplay, then I am gonna riot. We have waited long enough for the next FromSoftware game. Nintendo will also be present and will show off their own plethora of games for Nintendo Switch. How about Breath of the Wild 2?
Joining as well are small-scale companies like Bad Button Studio, LGA Enterprises, and RDS Industries Inc., which have some cool things to reveal.

Missing Companies
Two major companies are missing in the event. These are Sony and EA both not participating in this year’s E3. EA will hold its own EA Play event where they will show off Battlefield and more, whereas, Sony will have its State of Play event. I am hoping that it will parade Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok gameplays. The actual release date of the two supposed events has not been revealed yet.
Steam Next Fest
E3 is not the only event you should look forward to. Steam will feature its own event from June 16 to 22, just the day after E3 2021 ends. There will be tons of playable demos, developer interviews, and sales on some selected titles. However, it will only be for games that are coming to PC. So, don’t expect any console exclusives.
