Ahead of its release date, EA Sports has revealed all of the game modes and everything you need to know about the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18.
The Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 will include FIFA Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Kick Off and Local Seasons. Ultimate Team will be able to participate in features like Squad Building Challenges, Online and Offline Seasons, Tournaments and Draft.
Players will enjoy live campaigns connected to the narrative of the football season, the Transfer Market, and more Ultimate Team features that will be revealed very soon.
"FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch is the best FIFA you can take with you anywhere, play anytime and with anyone," said Producer, Andrei Lăzărescu in a press release. "We're delivering the immersive and authentic experience that fans expect from FIFA, while leveraging innovative ways to play both at home and on the go with Nintendo Switch."
FIFA players can participate in Local Seasons across two Switch consoles, as well as Kick-Off mode, Career, Online Seasons, Tournaments, Women's International Cup and Skill Games.
When the first trailer for FIFA 18 was released, fans noticed a disclaimer that stated the following:
“Frostbite Game Engine Technology and the Journey: Hunter Returns Mode are available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platform versions ONLY,” the disclaimer noted. “Not all features available on all platforms.”
The Hunter Returns game mode is FIFA 18 ’s story-like mode that was teased during the EA Play conference but it seems that it won’t be available on the Nintendo Switch version.

However, the Switch version will still have all the multiplayer action that FIFA fans will expect but have the portability of the Nintendo Switch to take it and play it wherever they are.
The EA press release does reiterate that FIFA 18 will be played on 1080p when the Nintendo Switch is docked and in 720p when undocked, which is the same for all of the Nintendo Switch titles.
EA also announced the brand new story mode for Madden 18 called Longshot and the first trailer for NBA Live 18 that showcases the brand new game mode, The One, which lets players play in the NBA and on the streets.
FIFA 18 will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on Sept. 29.
