The latest update for Fortnite’s Creative mode is now available. Update v19.10 brings several new features that have been highly requested by the community, including the Prop Manipulator Device and Icon Library, among others. This patch also implements a lot of bug fixes.
New Features
Four major things are added by Update v19.10. The first is the Prop Manipulator Device which, as the name implies, gives you the ability to manipulate the visibility and collision of props. You can set it so the props near it will be invisible to you, for example, though it is capable of other functions as well. To use this, just attach it to a single prop.
Next is the Icon Library. Simply put, this is a library with a collection of 90 icons that you can attach to your various devices. These icons can be used to lead you to specific areas and objects and show certain points of interest on the map, among other things. These are the devices that can utilize the Icon Library at the moment:
- Accolade Device
- Beacons
- Capture Area
- Explosive Device
- Map Marker
- Player Counter
- Ball Spawner
The developers at Epic Games will be adding new icons to the library in the future.
The other two additions are the Player Counter Device and the Pop-up Dialog Device. The former allows you to check the number of people in a specific area and signals you when someone joins or leaves the game. The latter gives you the ability to creatively display information to players.
Apart from the new features, some bug fixes have also been implemented. Here are the highlights:
- Fixed an issue with assets from the Primitive Shapes Gallery not showing the correct material when chosen
- Fixed an issue where some cubes from the Cube Gallery had overlying asset copies
- Fixed an issue where gravity was inconsistently applied to items spawned by Item Spawners
- Fixed an issue where the Character device would remain visible even when the visibility setting was set to off
- Fixed an issue with the Player Reference device that caused it to not transmit channels when players stats changed
- Fixed an issue where the Character device would remain visible even when the visibility setting was set to off
- Fixed an issue where the Character device would display corrupted textures when placed after resizing
