Fortnite update 2.4.2, or 1.42 on PS4, is scheduled for Feb. 8. The patch includes tweaks to the First-Shot Accuracy shooting test as well as a brand-new Crossbow weapon for Battle Royale. For players who wish to get in the Valentine’s Day spirit, new skins pre-empt a larger Save The World event due next week.

Today’s patch notes are fairly light compared to last week’s , but the lack of new features will hopefully lead to greater in-game stability in the days ahead. Save The World customers may feel a bit neglected by the 2.4.2 update, but Epic has taken steps to ensure those folks have a lot to look forward to on the not-so-distant horizon. Future updates include the Valentine’s Day Event, a multi-week Spring It On Event, the first phase of a stamina rework and a crafting UI overhaul. Following the hectic release of the Minigun update last week, Epic has slightly reduced its output for the next month or so.

While history would suggest Fortnite update 2.4.2 should go live in the early morning hours, a lengthier delay isn’t out of the question. We’ll do our best to keep you informed of those developments as they unfold.

Fortnite is in early access across PS4, Xbox One and PC. The update is scheduled to release Feb. 8.
