Netflix announced on Wednesday that it has renewed Fuller House for a second season. The show’s official Twitter page made the announcement with a tweet: “Your list will get even fuller. Season 2. Coming soon to @Netflix. #FullerHouse.”
Fuller House is the resurrection of the popular ABC sitcom Full House, which ran for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995. The Netflix show finds D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Cameron Bure) returning to her family home with her three sons and sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) after being recently widowed. Joining the crew is her best friend Kimmy Gibler (Andrea Barber) and her daughter Ramona (Soni Bringas).
Season One saw the return of many regulars from the original series including John Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin and Jesse and Becky’s twins, Nicky and Alex, played by Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit. Missing from the 13 episodes of the San Francisco-set family sitcom is Michelle (played by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in the original series) who is “busy in New York running her fashion empire.”
Will Mary-Kate and/or Ashley Olsen return to play Michelle Tanner? According to creator and executive producer Jeff Franklin, that’s the goal.
"I'm hoping that if we get to do more, maybe the Olsen twins will come and visit," creator Jeff Franklin previously told PEOPLE. "I was honestly disappointed that they didn't come and play with us for at least an episode. But the door is still open and everybody is still friends and I hope that someday they'll decide that it seems like fun to come back and visit us. I'm hoping that will happen. They were missed."
The show broke the fourth wall in the first season in a scene, which has been described by Franklin as a “playful wink” and not a jab, where Saget’s character Danny explains that Michelle is running a fashion empire and the entire cast stares directly at the camera with annoyed expressions for a few seconds.
Fuller House Season One is currently streaming on Netflix.
