Genshin Impact is having its first-ever online Genshin Concert 2021 this October 3. Called "Melodies of an Endless Journey," it features music composed and produced by Yu-Peng Chen and HOYO-MiX for the game. This concert is part of the game’s first-anniversary celebration.
The original soundtrack will be performed by the Flanders Symphony Orchestra with the Maestro Dirk Brossé serving as the conductor. Maestro Brossé has more than four decades of experience as a composer and conductor. He has been involved in different projects worldwide like the Star Wars in Concert World Tour.
The entire concert is expected to last for 90 minutes and it won’t be just the orchestra. There are also musicians from many countries, including the US and South Korea, who will show their own interpretation of the soundtrack. The whole concert can be viewed online for free.
You can watch the announcement trailer below:
For those who aren’t able to watch the trailer, it gives us a peek at Maestro Dirk and the Flanders Symphony Orchestra performing the Mondstadt theme at the Salle Philharmonique de Liège.
In a statement, Composer and Producer Yu-Peng Chen shared that they have been experimenting with different cultural elements and hope to continue doing the same in the future. He added that when they first heard Maestro Brossé and the Flanders Symphony Orchestra play the Mondstadt theme, they knew at once this was the team that could recreate some of the game’s most memorable moments.
Genshin Impact is an open-world action RPG released on September 28 of last year. It puts players in the role of a Traveler who goes on a journey to discover what happened to their lost sibling while learning more about the secrets of Teyvat.
Teyvat is a world divided into seven nations, each one having a dedicated musical theme. The game’s soundtrack makes use of traditional orchestral music for its base while adding different elements of world music. Six original soundtrack albums have been released so far with a seventh one expected to release soon.
The game will be expanded with the upcoming Version 2.1. Read more about that here.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS.
