Version 2.2 of Genshin Impact is arriving this October 13. Titled “Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog,” it’s going to introduce the last of Inazuma’s six major islands. As if that’s not exciting enough, players can also expect a new playable character in Thoma. There are also new challenges and mini-games.
New Island
Once the update goes live, players can finally travel to Tsurumi Island. Players need to take care while exploring the island because it’s shrouded in dense fog. In this case, getting lost is just one of many problems that can be encountered.
This is due to Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps. These beasts lie in wait in the fog to launch a sneak attack. When one of their attacks hits a character, all members of the party get the “Corrosion” status where they gradually lose HP shielded or not.
New Character
Thoma first made his debut in the game during the Inazuma storyline. This time, he joins the game as a four-star playable character who uses a polearm as a weapon and Pyro Vision. Players should be happy that he is a reliable teammate for he can provide strong defense and buffs. He can be recruited in the second Event Wish, which features Thoma and Hu Tao.
New Events
The update brings with it new season events. One of these is the "Labyrinth Warriors" event where players journey to a mystic domain in Inazuma, along with "Childe" Tartaglia and Xinyan.
Another is the “Tuned to the World's Sounds” event, which is pretty much a rhythm game. Here players can enjoy different styles of music.
Optimizations
Optimizations to the current gameplay will be added by the update. The PC version, for example, is now going to offer DualSense Controller support. Players can look forward to more features for the Serenitea Pot, like the Inazuma-themed realm layout Silken Courtyard. Coming as well is a new furnishing type and Floating Platform.
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action RPG where players take on the role of the Traveler. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS. A version for the Nintendo Switch is being planned for release.
