The release date of God of War Ragnarök was finally confirmed by Sony yesterday. The highly anticipated sequel will launch on PS4 and PS5 on November 9, 2022. The Japanese tech giant didn’t just stop there as it also revealed more information about pre-order bonuses and different editions of the game.
The pre-order bonuses may have been revealed, but you can’t actually pre-order the game right now. The pre-order for Ragnarök will go live on July 15 at 10 a.m. EST.
Pre-Order Bonus
Players who pre-order any edition of the game will get access to Kratos Risen Snow Armor and the Atreus Risen Snow Tunic (cosmetic). These bonuses will only be given to players who purchase the game before November 9.
Standard Edition
Standard Edition is exactly what you think it is, which only contains the base game and nothing else. Players who purchase the PS4 version can upgrade it to the PS5 version for $10.
Digital Deluxe Edition
This edition brings the base game and tons of extra digital goodies like:
- Kratos Darkdale Armor
- Atreus Darkdale Attire (cosmetic)
- Darkdale Blades Handles for the Blades of Chaos
- Darkdale Axe Grip for the Leviathan Axe
- Official God of War Ragnarök Digital Soundtrack
- Dark Horse Digital Mini Artbook
- Avatar Set
- PlayStation 4 Theme
The price of the Digital Deluxe Edition hasn’t been revealed yet, but $80 should be a good guess.
Collector’s Edition
The price of the Collector's Edition isn’t disclosed, but we are sure that it won't be cheap. This edition comes with a printed voucher code for the game for PS4 and PS5. You will also get a Steelbook Display Case which shows off Bear and the Wolf. However, it won’t have a game disc in it.
The biggest attraction of the collector’s edition is the 16” Mjölnir Replica, a copy of Thor’s signature weapon from the game. Two more extra physical goodies will also be included:
- 2” Vanir Twins Carvings – In the same style as Atreus’ wooden toy carvings of the Huldra Brothers from the God of War (2018) Collector’s Edition, the God of War Ragnarök Collector’s Edition completes the set with carvings of the Vanir Twins.
- Dwarven Dice Set – This set comes with a set of dice with a quality wood-like finish in a dice bag with a symbol of Yggdrasil on the outside.
The Collector’s Edition will come with every digital goody from the Digital Deluxe Edition.
Jötnar Edition
Jötnar Edition is for the most loyal fans. This one features everything from the Collector’s Edition. However, the Dwarven Dice Set will be replaced by Brok’s Dice Set, and will also include all of the stuff mentioned below:
- 7-Inch Vinyl Record with music by Bear McCreary – This includes two tracks from composer Bear McCreary.
- The Falcon, Bear, and Wolf Pin Set – Representing Faye, Kratos, and Atreus respectively, this pin set symbolizes our heroes’ family.
- The Legendary Draupnir Ring – A ring from Norse Mythology, the Legendary Draupnir Ring comes in a red cloth bag.
