Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is getting ready for its iOS release this October 29. While pre-orders are already being accepted, players have a chance to try out the game with the upcoming Closed Beta. The Closed Beta officially begins October 15 and gives players a first taste of the mobile version.
To take part in the Closed Beta, players need to have a GOG.com account. Developer CD Projekt Red said that access to the Closed Beta is going to be limited and access is going to be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
In Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, players fight against opponents in fast-paced duels that combine careful deck construction with on-the-fly decision making along with the occassional bluff. The game is played over a best-of-three series of rounds, as players unleash their hands by slinging spells and diverse units with special abilities, and use clever tricks to deceive their opponents.
The iOS version continues to have all the features of the PC version, but with controls reimagined for the touch interface. Player progress and purchases can be shared between iOS and PC through a GOG account, ensuring that players can switch between these two platforms at any time. Players using the iOS version can play not only against PC gamers, but even those on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Among many others, the iOS version offers:
