Supergiant Games' popular roguelike "Hades II" features a ton of different bosses from Greek mythology that players can encounter and battle against.
In their journeys as Melinoe, the Princess of the Underworld, players must defeat a variety of challenging enemies before getting to Chronos, the God of Time. One of these powerful foes is Scylla and the Sirens.
This particular battle is three bosses packed into one that you have to beat in order to pass through Oceanus and progress into the depths of the underworld. This is one of the more complicated boss fights in "Hades II" with the enemies' unique attack patterns and behavior.
This guide teaches players the basics of what they should know when fighting Scylla and the Sirens and how to reliably take the boss down for themselves. Keep these tips and tricks in mind when playing through "Hades II" yourself.
Scylla and the Sirens' Attack Pattern
This boss has many powerful attacks, including one where Scylla shrieks and follows Melinoe around the battlefield. She can also launch four beams that circle around her to keep you at bay, according to IGN.
On the other hand, the Drummer can create red casts that will damage you if they are caught in them. The Guitarist is also able to create these as well as a ring of red power that will emanate around her. The latter also has a charge move you should look out for.
The Guitarist is also able to shoot bubble-like projectiles at the player. Keep an eye out for two variations of giant cast attacks. One pushes you to the Drummer while the other forces you away.
Scylla herself can also use her weapon to attack you if you get too close to her. The battlefield will often have at least one small red bubble. This will have a musical note inside and damage you on impact. She can also shoot several spiked projectiles.
Battle Tips and Tricks
A lot of players get overwhelmed when they first fight Scylla and the Sirens due to the boss' varied attacks. You will almost always be on the move to dodge enemy attacks and projectiles, Game Rant said.
Going through the boss fight a few times can get you accustomed to how Scylla and the Sirens' attacks work and how to dodge them properly. The main thing you need to keep an eye on is the projectiles that the boss shoots out.
You should also focus on Scylla's allies before turning your attention to the main boss herself to have an easier time. Even though it is challenging, try to separate the enemies you fight, so you only need to deal with one of them at a time.
Other Tips
Some of the recommended weapons to use for this particular boss fight in "Hades II" are the Moonstone Axe due to its explosive power, as well as the Argent Skull. But it is always preferable to use a weapon that you are comfortable using.
For Boons, not a lot of them give particularly useful benefits for Scylla and the Sirens. Fighting three enemies at once requires a certain level of flexibility. You should focus on using Boons that improve your Cast and Omega Cast, according to Games Radar.
