Injustice 2 will bring the story of Injustice to a new level. As NetherRealm Studios revealed during the Captain Cold, Flash and Bane Watchtower Twitch stream, the story of Injustice 2 will be longer than the first game and Mortal Kombat X.
During the opening segment of the Injustice 2 stream, NetherRealm’s Tyler Lansdown took questions from Twitter and one asked about the length of the story. Besides revealing that the story will be longer than the aforementioned MKX and Injustice, Lansdown mentioned some chapters will actually let players choose the character to use.
Those familiar with the first Injustice and Mortal Kombat X, the chapter-based story will focus on one or two characters forcing players to use fighters they may otherwise not use. In Injustice 2, there will be a couple of chapters that allow players to play as a character of their choice. This also allows for an added replay value as you can revisit the story and choose a different character.
Some of the Injustice 2 story elements we know so far include Superman’s release from his Red Sun prison. Supergirl will also play a huge role in Injustice 2, as she will have to choose between her cousin and Batman’s side. The Birds of Prey are hanging around and Green Arrow has returned from the dead somehow. There’s a lot to figure out in the Injustice 2 story and if it’s as long as they say, there are a lot of twists and turns to experience.
Injustice 2 will release May 16.
