When Apple unveiled its iPad Pro in September 2015, it was touted as the most powerful and productive iOS device the company ever designed. Now, an alleged iPhone 7 Geekbench test suggests Apple's new smartphone scores even higher than the professional-grade tablet.
Via PrimateLabs, the Geekbench results for a device titled "iPhone 9,3" scored a single-core score of 3379 and multi-core score of 5495. While the "iPhone9.3" moniker doesn't explicitly indicate that it is an iPhone 7, the connection can be made given the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus carried the hardware strings "iPhone8,1" and 'iPhone8,2," respectively.
As for the particular iPhone 7 used, the Geekbench results indicate the device features 2GB of RAM. Longstanding rumors have claimed the more powerful iPhone 7 Pro features 3GB of RAM. If this is true, then the phone used in the Geekbench test is a standard 4.7-inch unit.
Obviously, the impressive performance of the iPhone 7 has the new A10 chip to thank. In comparison, the iPad Pro's 2.2GHz A9X chip only earned a single-core score of 3224 and multi-core score of 5366, both of which are more than 100 down on the new A10.
