Jadis is a new character made for The Walking Dead Season 7 who had the lady balls to betray Rick Grimes. But did she actually betray Rick? We’re not so sure yet.
First, Jadis isn’t a character from the comic books. We don’t have any background information on the Junkyard community. We don’t know why they speak in riddles or dress in all black. However, you can’t be mad at a community looking out for themselves.
It turns out Negan didn’t know about Jadis or her community. They found the Saviors and offered them the information about Rick’s uprising in exchange for resources. For all Jadis knows, Rick’s the bad guy in this situation.
Was Jadis betraying Rick messed up? Definitely. Would we have handled the situation differently from Jadis? No, we probably would’ve sided with Negan too. It makes the most sense. Negan had the resources and numbers, while Rick is seemingly desperate. Jadis was probably like, “We don’t know Rick or Negan, so which situation benefits us the most?”
Jadis also probably wants to have sexy time with Negan. Did y’all catch the moment where Jadis had the audacity to ask Michonne if she could have sex with him after her? Michonne looked like she was ready to stab Jadis right there. We don’t blame Jadis, though. Rick’s fine as hell.
Ultimately, do we think there’s still time for Jadis to join Rick’s side? Yes. She has loyalty to no one. Think of Jadis is a mercenary than a villain – She goes wherever her interests lie. We wouldn’t be surprised if Rick won the war because Jadis double-crosses Negan.
We also like Jadis and the Junkyard’s introduction because it throws a wildcard in the All Out War storyline. Now that Eugene is with Negan, things will play out differently for Rick. However, Eugene did leave Rick instructions on how to make bullets. He can very easily get the ammunition he needs.
What do you think about Jadis? Will she align herself with Rick or stay with Negan? Let us know in the comments below.
