LawBreakers has been going through the phases of pre-release like a closed alpha and other testing, but now the plans for an official release are here. After a short closed beta followed by a much longer open beta, LawBreakers will launch on PS4 and PC on Aug. 8.
If you want to play LawBreakers before it is released, there will be one last opportunity. An invite-only beta will start on June 28. If you can’t get into that, the beta will be opened up to the public on June 30. This beta will run until July 3.
The press statement about the beta doesn’t specifically mention if it will be available on PS4 or not, but the website allows for people to register for a PS4 beta. It’s likely there will be some testing done on the PS4 before launch, even if it isn’t at the same time as the PC beta.
If you would like to pre-order LawBreakers, there are two different options available right now. The standard version is available for $29.99 and pre-ordering will unlock a few exclusive skins and an exclusive account portrait. There is also the Deadzo Deluxe Edition which includes six additional character skins, “Hadronium blue” weapon skins, a weapon sticker variety set and a Deadzo account portrait. The Deluxe edition will cost $10 more, coming in at $39.99.
If you want even more, you’ll want to hold off on pre-ordering. The official site mentions there will be a special edition limited run for LawBreakers that will probably include collectibles such as a character statue, pin or some other physical item.
Regardless of which version you buy, LawBreakers will be continuously updated for free over the life of the game. These updates will include new game modes, maps, characters and more. However, this likely means there will be a litany of cosmetic items like character and weapon skins available for purchase to continue driving development.
