A huge wave of news is coming to Pokémon fans as Nintendo and The Pokémon Company officially announced a new Pokémon Presents, airing on the franchise’s official media channels this August 3, Wednesday. There are a lot of new things said to be in the docket for this big presentation, so if you consider yourself one of the biggest fans of Pokémon, remember to set the date. Check out the official announcement below, as announced by the official Pokémon Twitter page:
As for what is sure to be presented, Nintendo has confirmed updates on Pokémon apps and video games, including the biggest upcoming one, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The presentation will air on YouTube via the official Pokémon channel at the following times:
- 6:00 a.m. PT
- 9:00 a.m. ET
- 9:00 p.m. HKT
On November 18, 2022, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be the first official installments in the ninth generation of the long-running and critically successful Pokémon series of video games. It will be developed by Game Freak, which has long been partnered with both Nintendo and The Pokémon Company to produce titles in the series since 1996. It will feature significant aspects lifted from previously released Pokémon titles, mainly Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, including open worlds. Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet will also include urban areas and open wilderness without borders for a more seamless gameplay experience. We may see the first ever gameplay footage for Pokémon Violet and Scarlet debut at the presentation, so save the date and keep your eyes peeled.
Given that the publishers referred to more apps besides the obvious Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, we may also see news on a possible DLC for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the latest game in the series and arguably the first of the mainline entries to break the mold in originality and gameplay. It is also one of the most successful ones, having sold over 12 million copies for its home console, the Nintendo Switch.
Besides this, we may also see smaller Pokémon news drop here and there, like new shows or mobile tie-ins coming in the future.
