The last episode of Once Upon a Time focused on sisterhood, specifically, that of Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Zelena (Rebecca Mader). In Underbrooke, Hades (Greg Germann) tells Zelena his master plan: to restart his heart with True Love’s Kiss and escape the underworld with Zelena, leaving the heroes behind.
The heroes turn to Cora (Barbara Hershey) to help and she suggests using the water from the River of Lethe to make Zelena forget she ever met Hades. Turns out Cora has used this tactic before when a young Regina hurt herself with her mother’s wand and only Zelena could cure her. Cora saves Zelena from her father, only to erase her memory and send her back once the two sisters get attached.
In Underbrooke, Cora ends up telling Regina and Zelena the truth and restoring their memories. Having resolved her unfinished business, Cora goes off into the light. Regina encourages Zelena to help Hades become a better man.
Before Zelena can go on her date with Hades, Rumple (Robert Carlyle) gets his hands on her. He’s out to seek revenge for giving Belle (Emilie de Ravin) the idea to place a sleeping spell on herself. Elsewhere in the episode, Charming (Josh Dallas) and James (also portrayed by Dallas) get into a fight and the nefarious twin is dropped into the River of Forgotten Souls.
