A new patch has dropped for Overwatch that invites you to join the Lunar New Year festivities. The latest update brings new cosmetics, weekly rewards, and Arcade event modes for you to enjoy. Some balancing changes have also been implemented, including a change to Mercy’s resurrect ability.
The Lunar New Year
Just like in other huge events, Blizzard is giving you the chance to earn some themed cosmetics by completing the new weekly challenges. Playing 27 games each week will reward you with an Epic skin for Ashe, Soldier: 76, and Wrecking Ball. Here is a rundown of all of the things that you can get:
- 9 Games: Skullcap Player Icon
- 18 Games: Spring Couplets Spray
- 27 Games: Prosperity Ashe Epic skin
- 9 Games: Auspicious Player Icon
- 18 Games: Practicing Forms Spray
- 27 Games: Auspicious Soldier: 76 Epic skin
- 9 Games: Tea Player Icon
- 18 Games: Porcelain Spray
- 27 Games: Porcelain Wrecking Ball Epic skin
There are other notable skins included in this patch, such as the Seolbim Legendary skin for Mercy and the Nezha Legendary skin for Tracer.
As mentioned earlier, this update introduces new event modes in the Arcade too. Bounty Hunter, for example, is a mode where the person who gets the first kill in the match will be deemed as the “Target,” and everyone else becomes the Bounty Hunter. You can earn extra points by killing the Target. But be warned, doing so will make you the next one.
