Though there have already been several leaks of the Google Pixel phones, there has yet to be a clear image of Google’s new devices. until now. Canadian carrier, Bell, has let the cat out of the bag, revealing press images for the Pixel and Pixel XL one day prior to Google’s launch event.
Tech blog 9to5Google shared the Pixel Phone details Sunday, showing the smaller device called the Google Pixel in white and the larger device called the Google Pixel XL in back. The smoking gun indicating the images are legitimate is the Oct. 4 date stamp on the rendered images. Smartphone makers often use the date or time on a press render to denote the launch date of a device.
U.K. mobile retailer Carphone Warehouse also published a landing page for the Pixel phones ahead of launch. The page has since been removed, but the images have already been saved. From these images, we know the Pixel devices will have Google Assisant, which was first showcased at Google I/O, as well as unlimited storage for photos and videos in Google Photos as primary features.
As said, Google will showcase its new products Tuesday. Both the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip 4GB of RAM, 32GB and 128GB of internal storage options, 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera a USB Type-C port and Android 7.1 Nougat. The Pixel is expected to feature a 5-inch Full HD display and a 2,770mAh battery, while the Pixel XL is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and a 3,450mAh battery.
