A new gameplay video of Plants vs Zombies Heroes was released by EA and shows eager fans just how PVP matches and the game in general works. Gary, one of the producers of PvZ Heroes, demonstrates the gameplay of the mobile title and explains how PVP matches and rankings work.
Casual matches only gives Hero Points, which are used to open new card packs to get new Plants and Zombies. In Ranked matches, you’ll get Hero Points and Stars. Gain 10 Stars in your League to rank up, which rewards you with Gems for even better card packs.
The mechanics of the game, while explained before, are shown off in the new Plants vs Zombies Heroes gameplay video. So take a look at a live PVP match.
Before each match begins, you’ll draw a hand of four cards and you can switch them out before the timer runs out.
During a PVP match, we see how Plants use Sunpower, not surprisingly, and Zombies use Brains to place cards and use “tricks” or special abilities.
There are several phases in each round, with each Zombie or Plant getting a turn to place cards on the field, before the Trick Phase comes around. In this phase, hero powers can be activated to get your side of the field ready for the Battle phase, where you and your opponent’s placed cards attack.
The game seems a lot more complicated than the simplified version above, but the gameplay video is a great tool to understand what you can and cannot do in PVP matches.
Plants vs Zombies Heroes is a card battle mobile game with a release date expected later this year.
