Pokémon GO officially revealed its plans for August, and like every month, there are new activities to enjoy. There’s the Pokémon appearing in raids and those in Spotlight Hours. August sees the third GO Battle Night, which should excite a lot of trainers.
One highlight for August is the Weekly 1 PokéCoin bundles. This one-time purchase bundle is available every Monday of the month. It’s going to have a Remote Raid Pass as well as other items.
Let’s start looking into the various activities for August. The Research Breakthrough encounters start on August 1 and run until September 1. Here, trainers encounter Chimecho while also experiencing Double XP.
August Community Day is going to be on August 14 and 15, and it sees the return of Eevee and its evolutions.
Spotlight Hours
Like the previous months, the Spotlight Hour takes place each Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., local time. For this month, the spotlight and special bonus for each hour are:
- August 3
- Spotlight on: Magnemite
- Special Bonus: Earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- August 10
- Spotlight on: East Sea Shellos
- Special Bonus: Earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon.
- August 17
- Spotlight on: West Sea Shellos
- Special Bonus: Earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
- August 24
- Spotlight on: A certain Pokémon is in the spotlight
- Special Bonus: Earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
- August 31
- Spotlight on: A certain Pokémon is in the spotlight
- Special Bonus: Earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
Raids
For raids, August focuses on Five-star Raids and Mega Raids:
- Five-Star Raids
- Dialga continues to appear in five-star raids until August 6.
- Palkia appears in five-star raids starting August 6 to 20.
- Announcements on Pokémon appearing in five-star raids after August 20 are to be made at a later date.
- Mega Raids
- Mega Charizard X continues to appear in Mega Raids until August 6.
- Mega Ampharos appears in Mega Raids from August 6 to 20.
- Mega Beedrill appears in Mega Raids from August 20 to 26.
- Mega Pidgeot appears in Mega Raids from August 26 to September 1.
