This Thursday, it's the first anniversary of Pokémon Unite. To celebrate this occasion, there's a lot of events happening in-game, along with the introduction of new Pokémon.
Before we look at these in-game events, let's start with some of the new features. First, three new Unite licenses will be added and these are:
- Glaceon (July 21)
- Buzzwole (August 3)
- Tyranitar (August 15).
If that's not enough, three more are set to arrive this September.
Pokémon Boost Emblems
New Pokémon boost emblems are added to the pool of items, which players can get as energy rewards. There are three grades of Pokémon boost emblem and these are gold, silver, and bronze. Players can create custom loadouts to use the effects of Pokémon boost emblems in battle.
Boss Rush
For a limited time, players are invited to try out the first PvE-style quick-battle event in the game. Everyone needs to work together and try to beat powerful Boss Pokémon that appear one after another. The higher a team’s score, the better the rewards. The schedules are:
- Period 1
- July 21 to July 24
- Period 2
- July 31 to August 7
- Period 3
- August 14 to August 21
In-Game Events
For in-game events, players can join these:
- Unite License and Holowear Log-In Bonus Gifts (July 21 to October 13)
- For up to five days during the event period, players receive a Pokémon Unite license and Holowear when they log in.
- If players already own the Unite license or Holowear, they receive 100 Aeos coins instead for each Unite license and Holowear they own.
- The Unite license and Holowear are:
- Day 1: Pikachu + Fashionable Style: Pikachu
- Day 2: Lucario + Concert Style: Lucario
- Day 3: Blastoise + Firefighter Style: Blastoise
- Day 4: Snorlax + Bedtime Style: Snorlax
- Day 5: Sylveon + Checkered Style: Sylveon
- Anniversary Cake Challenge (July 21 to September 2)
- During the event period, players can receive frosting for:
- Logging in
- Battling
- Completing missions
- By collecting frosting, players can complete the anniversary cake and receive various rewards.
- Icy Glaceon Challenge (July 21 to August 15)
- Players can earn Glaceon’s Unite license after completing the special mission challenge. Glaceon is an Attacker Pokémon, and its Unite Move is Glacial Stage.
- New Holowear is also going to be released at the start of the event.
- Invite-a-Friend Campaign (July 21 to August 12)
- When players invite new friends to Pokémon Unite, both them and their friends can get rewards.
- The player sending the invite receive a random box that has, among others:
- Holowear tickets
- Energy boost tanks
- The player who received the invite has a chance to obtain Bonfire Style: Slowbro if they win a certain number of ranked matches after using the invitation code.
- Returning Trainer Support Event (July 12 to August 5)
- Players can get different rewards by teaming up with friends or other players who haven’t logged in over 14 days.
