Red Dead Redemption is never coming to PC, it would seem. That means fans who want to play the epic western will need to take things into their own hands to experience riding into Mexico on horseback with a mouse and keyboard. Now, thanks to mod group .White Team, it will be incredibly easy.
Called Red Dead Redemption V, this mod takes the map from Red Dead Redemption and brings it to the GTA V engine. The team developing the mod aims to make everything as identical to the original release as possible, along with adding graphical improvements and increasing the quality of the textures. Multiplayer will be supported through the use of FiveM/FiveReborn or other third party online clients.
It’s unknown just how in-depth the mod will get, but from the sounds of an FAQ posted on GTAforums.com, the project sounds pretty involved. Goals include getting Dead Eye Targeting to work, and including minigames, vehicles, characters and animals.
Red Dead Redemption V has been in development for a few years, but still needs more work before releasing. A beta is planned for this summer, with a full release scheduled after that. A trailer showing off in-game footage will debut soon.
