Akiba’s Trip is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and it means fans can expect a special edition to come out. Developer XSEED unveiled the special retail Day 1 10th Anniversary Edition Akiba's Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed, a remaster of the original game.
Remastered Version
Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed was initially revealed all the way back at E3 2019. This upcoming version offers an update on the visuals while expanding the vampire-hunting action. Making this even more special is that the game is now, for the first time, in English.
In the game, players dive deep into “otaku” culture to learn more about a vampiric conspiracy. Discover what their ultimate plan is and put a stop to it to make the world better for otakus again.
Game Features
The game has four main features with the first one being the importance of choice. Players get to choose which faction they want to support and see how each decision affects the story. So, expect different endings in this game.
Second is everyone gets to enjoy a rather playful re-imagination of the Akibahara. For those not familiar, this district is considered the Electronics Mecca of Japan. Indeed, the area has been recreated to what it was back in 2011. Experience the highly accurate shops and street layout based on everything during that time.
How do players stop whatever it is the vampires are planning? Many different objects like collectibles and replicas are usable to humiliate those vampires to submission. Of course, all these can be done with a wide range of customizable costumes.
Finally, there's the full dual audio where players can enjoy hours of voiced-over banter, which are available in Japanese and English.
Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed is available for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch at $39.99. The 10th Anniversary Edition though is offered only for Switch and PS4 at $49.99. Besides the base game, the remastered edition also comes with an art book that has more than 60 pages of original illustrations and newly commissioned art. Included as well is the official soundtrack that has 47 tracks made available on two CDs.
