Another weekend, another brand new weapon coming to Splatoon 2, but this time it’s the long-awaited Splat Brella.
The Splat Brella is a brand new type of weapon introduced in Splatoon 2 , and players who have played through the single-player story mode will already be acquainted with the new weapon as it was featured in a few stages.
The Splat Brella allows for offensive and defensive tactics in battle. Inklings can shoot their Splat Brella like a small shotgun that can attack enemies and spread ink, but this special weapon can also act defensively.
By holding down the attack button, open up the Splat Brella and it will act as a shield. However, beware that you won’t be able to move around so well when it’s open. Secondly, if you hold down the attack button to its max, you will launch the Splat Brella like a torpedo that can do serious damage. It can also act as a moving shield for Inklings to get closer to the enemy.
It needs to be noted that once the Splat Brella’s torpedo is used, you will be defenseless for a short period of time.

So when can Splatoon 2 players expect the Splat Brella update? Usually with these weapon updates they appear in the game on Friday night in the United States and on Saturday morning in Europe.
This is the fourth new weapon coming to Splatoon 2 since its release in July. Nintendo has said that they plan to support Splatoon 2 with regular updates for at least a year. If the recent data mine leaks are to be believed, there’s a ton of new weapons and stages to expect.
