Pre-orders for the ink-splatting and action game Splatoon 3 are now available. This newest entry to the Splatoon series is launching on Nintendo Switch this September 9. The game introduces features and modes that haven’t been seen in the franchise before. In addition, there are also fan-favorite modes that have been reinvented in unique ways.
Players can pre-order the game here for $59.99. Those who pre-order, or buy the game before September 30, from the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo.com get double the My Nintendo Gold Points. That means it’s possible to get as much as 10% in Gold Points.
Before the game officially releases, players can look forward to the special edition Splatoon 3-themed Nintendo Switch OLED Model system. It’s going to be available in stores starting August 26, priced at $359.99. It’s adorned with splashy and squid-tastic images straight out of Splatsville. This Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Splatoon 3 Edition comes with a set of one blue and one yellow gradient Joy-Con controllers that have white underbellies and a white, graffiti-themed Nintendo Switch dock.
Join the Splatfest
There are a bunch of events happening this August. On August 27, there’s the Splatoon 3: Splatfest World Premiere demo which gives Nintendo Switch players the chance to play the game ahead of its full launch this September.
New and veteran players of the franchise can show their support for one of three themes and be able to splat it out in the newly introduced Tricolor Turf War battles. Those interested can download the free demo of the game from the Nintendo eShop beginning August 18.
Once they’ve downloaded the game, players can then show up on August 27 and choose Team Rock, Team Paper, or Team Scissors. While the main Splatfest is on August 27, some parts of the demo can be accessed on August 25.
Invitational 2022 Tournament
Before the official release, there’s the Splatoon 3 Enter the Splatlands Invitational 2022 Tournament happening on September 5 at PAX West. Joining this first-ever Splatoon 3 Invitational in North America are the top players of the Splatoon 2 Inkopolis Showdown 2022 tournament.
