Bungie finished the year on a good note with next-generation consoles receiving a wonderful upgrade, new storylines, the dawning coming and going, and even Stasis being used in Iron Banner. This year, Bungie is starting out strong by suing a cheat maker company and balancing whatever is necessary for Destiny 2, starting with Hunter's Shatterdive.
Bungie is also changing the reward structure for Crucible, giving two unique rewards across all three activities. This means you can get up to six unique rewards, which have a really low chance of spawning after a match.
The second change is the loot system wherein you have to access it manually from vendors. If you receive a Crucible reward, then you must head towards Lord Shaxx to claim the reward. This makes it easier to keep track of what you get in your inventory.
“Over the holiday break we saw Trials go live, and with that a wealth of valuable feedback from the community,” stated Combat Area Lead Tomonori Kinoshita.
Tomo added that they've been tracking data from Trials and identified some short-term changes. Apart from those, several goals are in focus that may roll out in the coming weeks or months. With more details, Bungie successfully formulated the short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals for the game.
Here are the short-term goals:
Shatterdive
- Now has damage falloff vs. unfrozen targets.
- Max range damage reduced from 50 to 5.
- Damage reduction during ability reduced from 50% to 25%.
Whisper of Fissures
- Reduced max-min damage vs. non-super players from 42-22 to 30-4.
- Reduced max-min damage vs. super players from 42-22 to 16-2.
- Reduced detonation radius vs. players from 10m to 9m.
They want to investigate the efficacy of the Stasis Titan Behemoth Super as well. For now, they are letting the change from the current update to settle in PvP. But it does not mean they are letting go of Behemoth anytime soon.
So, what are your thoughts on the nerf Bungie has in store for some of the characters? Do you think they will nerf stasis into the ground? Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
