HTC has recently announced the official successor to the HTC One M9, the HTC 10, and despite the lack of the thirteenth letter of the alphabet in the name of the device, excitement is running high for the smartphone. However, Apple recently released the iPhone SE, so it looks like the HTC 10 may have some competition.
Currently, the HTC 10 is available to be pre-ordered for $699, but the pre-order price does include UH OH Protection, which means your HTC 10 could be replaced if the screen gets cracked or water damages the device within the first year. The pre-orders are for the unlocked version of the HTC 10, which are compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T service providers.
The iPhone SE on the other hand only costs $399, or $13.30 a month for the 16GB model with a payment plan, or $499 for the 64GB model. The iPhone SE also comes in more colors than the HTC 10 , which is only available in glacier silver and carbon grey. The iPhone SE comes in Silver, Gold, Space Grey and Rose Gold.
Processor-wise the HTC 10 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip while the iPhone SE has the same A9 chip used in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The HTC 10 has a 4GB RAM while the iPhone SE has a 2GB RAM, and the flagship HTC device also boasts a 3,000 mAh battery compared to the iPhone SE’s 1,624 mAh battery.
Both phones contain a fingerprint sensor, although the HTC does comes with BoomSound speakers and the HTC Sense overlay feature. The HTC’s rear-facing camera has a 12-megapixel sensor, while it’s front-facing camera has a 5-megapixel sensor. Meanwhile, the iPhone SE has a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2 front facing camera.
The biggest difference between the devices, however, is the screen size. The iPhone SE has a 4-inch screen while the HTC 10 has a 5.2-inch display.
