In American Horror Story Season 6 episode 3, which airs at 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Lee is struggling after her daughter, Flora, goes missing. The previous episode 2 ends after Lee, Matt and Shelby discover Flora’s hoodie hung at the very top of and extremely tall tree with jagged, short branches.
It remains to be seen if Flora will be found, or even whether she’s dead or alive. But the episode 3 trailer shows the police being called to Matt and Shelby’s home. As can be expected, the trio will experience some terrifying events throughout the episode, which may be connected to American Horror Story: Coven.
While much of the trajectory of American Horror Story: Roanoke remains unknown, Executive Producer Ryan Murphy recently told Entertainment Weekly the season will take a twist at episode 6.
It is well known that all of the AHS seasons are connected and part of the same universe. A recent fan theory suggests Roanoke may tie into that larger universe by depicting each of the prior seasons in its first five episodes. Episode 1 is believed to represent Season 1, Murder House, while episode 2 is believed to represent Season 2, Asylum, according to Popsugar . If true, viewer should expect to see aspects from Coven , Freak Show and Hotel before the season takes a turn at episode 6.
The Wrap also shared some other theories, including the possibility that Shelby is the psychic Billie Dean Howard from Murder House , the people telling the Roanoke story aren't the real Matt, Shelby and Lee, or that the documentary may be depicting them after they are already dead.
The rest of the story unfolds Wednesday when American Horror Story Season 6 Episode 3 airs at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
